Smithsburg Steam and Craft Show Gears Up for Another Big Year

Returning for its 51st year, the Smithsburg Steam Engine and Craft Show is back! The annual event will be held on September 27-28 at the Smithsburg Carnival Grounds.
The Smithsburg community comes together each year to support the high school’s athletic programs by hosting this fundraising event.
Smithsburg High School has 13 athletic teams in sports such as basketball, bocce, cheer, cross country, football, golf, track and field, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling.
In 2024, the Leopards had an amazing amount of support. The attendance was about 14,000 people and the event raised $42,000 The Steam and Craft Show Committee aimS to do even better for the athletic teams this year.
Over the weekend, you can find arts and crafts, a saw mill, craft demonstrations, tractors & gas engines, a shingle mill, steam traction engines, blacksmiths, straw baling, grain thrashing, and good home cooking.
The event is free admission to enter and extra fees for the food and select activities. Pets are advised not to attend.
On Saturday the 27th, the hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Sunday the 28th, the hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A highlight of this exciting weekend is the annual parade that starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
